What is Proust.com?
Proust.com is a place for families and close friends to share the stuff that really matters. It's a place to capture our life stories,
thoughts, and aspirations and spark meaningful conversations about who we are.
Why is the website named Proust?
The idea for Proust.com was inspired by the 19th century French writer Marcel Proust, who is best known for his seven-volume novel
In Search of Lost Time, but is popularly identified with what has come to be known as the "Proust Questionnaire."
I lost my password, what do I do?
On the homepage, click "Log In" in the top right corner. When the box opens, click "Forgot Password?" underneath email and password. Enter your email address, hit "reset", and you will receive an email with further directions.
How do I change my email address?
You can change your email address under the settings page. To get there, click "Settings" at the very top of the website, next to your greeting. Look for "Email address" in the Basics section, the first section on the page.
Who can see my information?
Your story is automatically set to be viewed by just your Proust friends and family only. If you decide to change this setting to include "everyone", then your entries are public on the internet.
I don't want to share my information, what do I do?
Your story is automatically set to be viewed by just your Proust friends and family only, so you're in good shape. You may remove people from your network if you don't want to share your information with them.
How do I edit or delete responses?
You can edit any of your entries by clicking on the specific entry, which will take you to storybook view (this looks like a digital book with the question on the left page and your response on the right page). Click "edit" or "delete" on the left page of the book underneath the question and date you answered.
How do I remove someone from my Proust Family & Friends?
When you are looking at their story, click "Remove _______ as your friend" in the green left-hand column.
Is Proust.com available in other languages?
Not yet! Send us a note with the language you want to feedback@proust.com.
Will Proust.com distribute my information to third parties?
We may allow third-party advertising companies or ad networks to display advertisements on our websites. We do not provide any personal information to these companies.
How does Proust use my Facebook information?
Proust uses Facebook to enhance your experience. Proust never posts anything to Facebook without your permission. Once you connect Proust and Facebook you have access to these great features:

How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account by clicking the "delete my account" button under the Account section on your settings page. Go to "settings" at the top of the website and scroll to the bottom of the page to find this button.
How do I comment on someone's answer?
You can only comment on a response if you are connected to the author. If you are looking at one specific question they've answered (which means you're on the storybook view page), you can comment by scrolling down past the book and typing your comment in the blue box. Hit "Post" when you're finished.
Is Proust free to use?
Yes! Proust is completely free to use. The only features with a cost are optional: the ability to download a print-at-home PDF version of your story, or order a professionally-printed copy as a book (coming soon). The print-at-home PDF storybook is available now, and free to use for a limited time. Try it out! |
