I had two. First one situated near the forest:) And second one is my grandmother's flat, in the center (well, almost) part of the city, near the bookstore, post office, different food shops etc. I used to visit them all almost every day with my grandmother when she did her everyday things.

My home was a very nice place, my parents always took good care of me. It was in a small town but I liked it there. I miss my Mom and Dad a lot since they passed away.

We only lived in 3 houses while I was growing up, a small 2 bedroom on Beach Ave. in Salem until I was 6. Then we moved to a 3 bedroom on Fisher Road until I was 12. That's the one with the most memories, friends all up and down the street. The Fallen boys, Timmy & Corky, the Merry kids, and several that came and went. We road bikes and played outside all year round, very seldom did we play inside anyone's house. Hide n' Seek, softball, were big draws also. I remember mom worked for the man that owed the house, he made huge tanks for oil, gas, sewage etc. she was his bookkeeper. We rode our bikes to school every day, or walked the mile to Washington. The house had a corner bath tub that I thought was huge!

It was a little 988 sf home that somehow we all managed to live in. Nowadays, everyone in a family has to have their own wing of the house so they don't ever have to see each other, but we managed to grow up in a small home without it causing major emotional problems or failures as grownups. It's silly, this notion that a giant house is better than a small house. It's just more house to take up time, money and happiness that should be rightfully spent on the children and spouse. Maybe there would be fewer divorces if people had to interact and face their problems instead of running to separate private unbreachable rooms.

We moved around a lot thanks to my father's job.I was born in Belgium, then moved to Germany when I was 12, then to France four years later.
Being a family of five, we always had big homes because my parents could afford it.We all had our own rooms and the house always had a garden for us to play in.The kitchen has always been the central meeting place. Both my parents worked and we were at school all day so dinner or snack time (at 5 or 6 pm) was always "talking" or "story" time. My father was often away but my brothers and me would always sit around the table or somewhere in the kitchen with my mother. From an early age on, she taught how to cook and we helped around. It was therefore a good time to talk about our day or about our problems.
The living room was important as well.On Sunday afternoons, we would all sit together and watch a movie, especially when we were little. It got harder with time because Sunday then were dedicated to doing homework but we still managed to do it once in a while.
Our homes were always warm and cozy, especially because my mother always put a lot of effort in decorating them. Our rooms were our little hiding places and we were always allowed to decide how to decorate them.

when you grow up things become smaller , although i lived most of my life in my childhood home like about for 15 to 16 years less or more , it was a two bedroom flat but it seemed like a castle with enormous rooms in the childhood :)
