For the last few years (2009-2012+), I have attended Gencon, which is one of the largest gaming conventions. (I think that counts.) I have attended as a "Game Master" because I teach crochet under the SPA activities. Those are the activities set aside for the spouses (or girlfriends, etc) of the the gamers.

I really want to go to a movie or anime convention, but they're all in America.

I haven't but I really want to go. I'm not sure what kind of convention I could attend though which is why I've never gone to one.

I cannot stand Anime. Even the gay anime. I just don't understand why anyone would want to watch it. I'm sure there are reasons, and I'm not saying anything bad about people who watch it, but I just can't follow along. One minute they're walking, the next they're flying up in the air with a multi-coloured strobe of lights behind them while screaming some random line.... I just don't know.

Also, comic books. I've tried real hard to get into comic books. I just don't know how. I've picked up a comic and read through it, but it never really caught my attention or interest. I'm not sure if comics are something you have to start from the very beginning, which go ahead and start Superman from book one.

I don't know what a movie convention is, but if a Star Trek convention counts then maybe I can see myself attending one. I'm not sure though. I haven't been able to get myself into watching Star Trek the Next Generation. I love the original series, but from what I've seen in documentaries, and heard from people, Star Trek conventions go through the whole lineup of Star Trek which I think would make me feel extremely out of place.
