I was born at Mercer County Hospital in Trenton, New Jersey. Mom had the help of nurses in the labor and delivery room, but Dad waited in the "father's waiting room" to hear the news of his baby girl's arrival. Mom remembers the Doctor telling her that she needed to be "as wide as a barn door" before the baby would be born. So at 5-something in the afternoon I was born. Mom said, "Oh boy ! Oh boy!" and the nurse said, "No, it's a girl!"
