Because my father was always away during the year and because we, children, spent a lot of time at school, summer was dedicated to traveling. My parents placed a lot of importance on opening our minds to foreign lands and cultures so we went everywhere: Australia, Canada, the US, Asia, and all over Europe.
It is difficult to pick out one special summer but our summers in Australia and Canada (we went several times) were quite special because we either camped or used a van to travel all over the country.Summer nights were spent around the fire, mornings around the breakfast table (which never happened during the school year because we all had to be up at different times), and days were spent on visiting, walking, learning about other cultures.

My older sister had invited some of her friends over for a sleepover. We ate smores and told funny stories, watched a few disney movies, then slept under the stars on our trampoline with lots of pillows and blankets. My mom woke us up in the morning by putting a sprinkler under the trampoline. ;)
