My dad had come home from work as a sheet metal mechanic, exhausted as this was a very physically draining job. I must have been about 7 yrs old and I remember thinking "what can I do to make him feel better"? Well, I took my markers out and started drawing a picture of him and I holding hands, walking in the park near our house. I made sure to draw a bright yellow sun and lots of colorful roses all around us. When I handed it to him, I sang "Zippity Doo Daa" from Song of the South, his favorite movie. The ear to ear smile that broke out from his face and laughter was music to MY ears. Anything that made by daddy happy made me happy too.

My thrifty father would not approve of my comic book purchases and collection. While we were out looking at some comic books (I just like to look at what's new) he made a remark to choose one book to buy. I was surprised that he'd agree to spend. I was confused between two Spider-man comic books and couldn't decide which of the two. He asked me to get both. That was a beautiful day for me.
