A poignant memory of my grandfather on my dad's side would be the way he always played Santa Claus for his job and family during the holidays. Kids would come to sit on his lap at work and then we would do the same at our family holiday parties. He fanned that fiery Christmas feeling within us all. I miss him everyday.
My Pop-pop (grandfather on my mom's side) is very proud of his Italian heritage. My favorite memory involving him would have to be our trip to Italy. One night at the waterfront on Lake Garda he got so giddy to be back in his country that he climbed on top of a cafe table and raised his hands over his head, feeling like king of the world. Then he hopped from table to table before jumping down to the ground. I never seen him look and act so vibrant and young!
My Nana (grandmother on my mom's side) provides me with tons of poignant memories every single time she visits. There is no one like her on this planet, and that's how I will always remember her. She is so different. She loves to shop, tan and keep up with celebrity gossip like the rest of us but she also loves sports, cigars and fishing. She taught me that it is just fine to be who you want whether or not other people appreciate it.
Lastly, I consider Don (married my Nana) like another grandfather. I was lucky to have him in my life. My favorite memory of him involves my father's ex-chief's dinner for the fire department. We all had to get dressed up and I was wearing this gold dress and gold shoes. During the dinner he told me I looked like a Greek goddess and asked me to dance with him. I loved it. He was always so funny and sweet and he truly loved us all. I miss him everyday, too.

I alternate between both. My Nook is easy for accessing a store to buy books from but sometimes I just need good, old fashioned paperbacks.

Catcher in the Rye. I don't think what J.D. Salinger wrote was incredibly unique. A coming-of-age novel is as old as literature itself.

I do, I believe my mom bought it for me. It's pink and in white stitching it says, "Always follow your heart."
