I love the one about James when he just about 3 or so. After putting him to bed all nice and neat, when we went in to check on him before we went to bed he was no where to be found! We turned on the lights and searched high and low and no James. He wasn't anywhere in the house. Under beds, in beds, closets etc. Then I looked in his toy box and there he was sound asleep! Scared the crap out of us!
Kevin's favorite story (I guess you had to be there), he also was around 3-4 the boys shared a room at Ft. Carson and it was upstairs. They had been playing around and were suppose to be
going to sleep, after yelling up stairs a half dozen times to go to sleep, down comes Kevin rubbing his temple and when asked what was wrong he announced he had "a rotten spot in his head! " I about died laughing, Ralph's like all up about "not laughing at your kids" but I couldn't help it.
Let's see Rachel...the one I really love most was when she was 14 I guess and we were in the little white house in Il. I had a rabbit named Johnathon Wilber. One evening she, Ralph and I were out front with John enjoying the nice weather and John was playing in a large flower box in front of the house. When it started to get dark I asked Rachel to get him and put him in the house. So she walks up to this 10 lbs rabbit and goes to pick him up and he stands up on his hind legs and I swear he acted like a raging bear! She backed away and refused to pick him up! Outstandingly funny! Then our other favorite story about Rachel she was 12 when we came to Florida on vacation. Being an Army family with 3 kids and going on vacation to do all the theme parks meant we camped rather than hotels. But once in awhile we would spring for a camping cabin so we had beds and a/c since it was August. In Sanabel Island we got a cabin and to make a long story short, the roof was slanted low to the outsides and she walked into that roof 3 or 4 times within 15 minutes! At first we were worried she had hurt herself then it just became funny she couldn't remember it was there! Sorry Rach, but it was funny.

Well, I guess I had unrealistic hopes that they could help her. Also it was hitting your dad really hard, one of the few times he ever cried. I'm sorry, but she wasn't alone and that is the important thing, she knew she was loved by all of us.

Watching my kids grow and learn new things, become parents themselves and seeing them with their children has been great.

I'm proud of each of them because they were/are good decent people loving parents and have followed their hearts. They are caring, loving friends and family equally, stand by their faith, country and family's.

Sure, I'm a good person and a happy one most of the time. But I want them to be who they are, not what someone else wants them to be.
