In March of my freshman year, I was part of the cast of the musical Mulan. My role wasn't large, however, I had a one-line solo that I was working on as though I had the lead. With the aid of my brilliant drama director and help of everyone in charge of the production, I became better. My stage presence greatly improved. My confidence was staggering. Boy, was I ready to perform. It wasn't opening night that my cousin Janelle attended. She came to my Saturday afternoon performance, which had a few less people than most of the others. As a cast, our energy was bordering on low-key. However, when my solo came in the second scene, I was PUMPED. I knew Janelle was there, and she had threatened to do something painfully obnoxious, such as blow an air horn or something. No air horn was present, but at the end of the song, Janelle yelled my name so loud, people backstage asked each other and then myself about it. It was absolutely delightful and unforgettable.

Waktu kecil seneng banget jajan ayam goreng sama nata de coco di warung, tapi kebiasaan itu tidak sejalan dengan isi kantong saya yang waktu itu baru berumur sekitar 8 tahun.
Berhubung hasrat akan makan ayam goreng dan minum nata de coco ga terbendung lagi, akhirnya saya memberanikan diri untuk ngambilin uang-uang receh punya ibu.
Nah, ibu saya lama-lama nyadar, walaupun yang hilang cuma 300 rupiah. Sampai suatu hari, terjadi percakapan ini:
Ibu : Kamu ambil uang mama ya??
Saya : Engga, arja tuh yang ambil (sambil nunjuk adik)
Ibu : Sudah mama duga!!
Saya : (Nelen ludah)
Sehabis itu ibu saya marahin adik saya sampe adik saya nangis, tapi anehnya adik saya engga bilang kalau dia engga ambil uang ibu saya, dia cuma bilang "maap" aja..
Jadi kayanya adik saya juga suka ambil uang receh ibu saya dulu..entah buat apa, kayanya sih buat beli ayam goreng juga (fyi, itu ayam goreng enak dan populer banget di antara temen-temen ngaji. jadi ibaratnya kalo mau diterima di pergaulan mesti sambil makan ayam goreng itu).
Sampe sekarang ibu saya sama adik saya gak tau apa yang saya perbuat..

When my granddaughter told me we were like "two peas in a pod." She was probably about 6-7 years old. Shortly thereafter I found matching necklaces that were metal pea pods with pearls inserted for peas. A very happy memory.

The first time I held my babysister, it felt like nothing else in the world mattered I had always wanted a sister and now I finally had one and no one could take her away from me she was my little miracle and I have a little reminder everyday just how special she is to me.
