November 22, 2007 Litchfield Beach, South Carolina 29585, USA What a great story. I had planned to propose during our family reunion trip to Pawley's Island at Thanksgiving. There were so many beautiful days and opportunities to pop the question. Tracy knew that too, and began to get worried. She didn't know that I had planned to do it Thanksgiving evening, in front of a beach fire with just the two of us present. She got more agitated as the trip progressed and finally she broke down and thought I wasn't going to do it at all. She assumed that she was just going to be a "Penny" and we would never get married.

She was crying and so upset when I tried to explain that I had the whole thing planned out that I had to give away the details and even show her the ring (that I was carrying in my pocket) to prove it.

So we had a giant bonfire on the beach with the whole family and other folks who were vacationing and wandered by. As people trickled home for the night, Tracy knew that my plan was coming soon. It was a beautiful experience and fortunately she said "YES!".

No we repeat the affirmation to get married ("I would do it again") each Thanksgiving at that same beach. Ideally with a campfire!

I'm not quite certain. Patrick asked me to marry him probably a hundred times. He got a wide variety of responses over a period of about 5 years. "Will you marry me?" "Hell NO!" "Maybe!" "In a heartbeat!" Are you fucking insane?" "Not in this lifetime, slick!" "When & where cuz' I'll be there!" "Not a good time to ask!" "Absolutely" "Let's elope!"

His offering was always this Dollar Store, Hot Pink, Blinking Light Ring! I still have it now 15 years later. True love!
