Leggo Tung Lei’s Story

My first crush was a beautiful red haired boy in my first grade class named Johnnie. He was full of life, with a great smile that lit up the room. He gave me a pretty Christmas tree pin for grab bag, and I was so happy I wore it for a month. Sadly, he and his family perished in a house fire just about a year after. I remember it being right around the holidays, and my father crying when he told me what happened. To say I was devastated is putting it mildly. My heart was broken in a thousand pieces. I knew his family from trick or treating and they were a large, very young, loving family. Every time I visit my old neighborhood, I pass by his former house, which is now a three story building. I will never forget Johnnie and know he, his brother and baby sister are up in heaven with their parents living a beautiful peaceful existence. I miss you Johnnie.
