Or at least that my ex-wife was... We were doing a battery of fertility treatments (HCG, etc.) and coming to the doctor in Little Rock every morning for a vaginal ultrasound to see how many eggs were ready. When he said that he counted about 12, it was time for business. Obviously the first question any novice would ask is "what rate of multiple births is possible"? He indicated that his practice had only a 12% rate of multiples (given the fertility method) and never more than twins.
Well, then back to his office each morning after taking care of business to see progress on the lucky dozen. At that first appointment, he saw 3 viable embryos! Holy shit - it figures with our luck. The doctor seemed pretty calm and said that the viable ones don't always make it (whatever that means). That was a crazy 24 hours thinking about the prospect of having triplets.
The next morning, the scan showed only two viable embryos, which was quite a relief, but also came with the realization that twins were pretty certain!

The fridge smelt funny! With both pregnancies that was the first sign - followed by three months of nausea.
