Saperstein's New York Globetrotters performed their basketball tricks and skills for the first time in Hinckley, IL. Soon enough, the team was on the road and touring as the Harlem Globetrotters.
June 23, 1927
President Calvin Coolidge, advocate and friend of Native Americans, was formally inducted into the Sioux tribe. Three years earlier, Coolidge had signed the Indian Citizenship Act, which gave all Native Americans within the U.S. citizenship.
