It's a bird... it's a plane... it's Superman! Superman was seen for the first time on the cover of comic book Action Comics No. 1. Jerry Siegel and Joel Shuster had created the superhero 5 years earlier and sold the rights to the character to DC Comics. Almost three quarters of a century later, a copy of the first comic with the Man of Steel on the front would sell for $1 million.
