The roster for the U.S. Olympic basketball team consisted of professional NBA players for the first time, and included such legends as Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Clyde Drexler, and Scottie Pippen. The group was nicknamed the 'Dream Team' and averaged 44 points over every team they played. The team won the Olympic gold medal and would be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010.
